5-star

We originally signed up to do the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Aiming Adventure in April 2020. Two pandemic delays later, we finally found ourselves in Nepal in October 2021. Traveling across the world to a foreign country and navigating their confusing visa process can be a bit daunting, but once we got out of the airport and met our guide, we felt like we were in good hands.

One of the best parts of Aiming Adventure is the attention to little details that other companies might not miss. We were always greeted at the tea houses with a hot drink and a plate of cookies, a nice touch after 8-9 hours of climbing up and down stairs. One of our porters double-checked our room for us each night to make sure we didn't forget anything. They put us up in nice hotels in Pokhara and Kathmandu and already had the jeeps to and from the trekking points arranged instead of making us use a much slower local bus.

Our guide knew many of the families running the tea houses and was able to pick the ones with the best service. We were thanked multiple times by the locals for coming back since their economy is so dependent on tourism. We even got lucky both at Poon Hill and ABC with the unseasonable late October rain stopping just enough to give us great views at both locations. We had a great time, and can't wait to go back in the future for another trek.

2023 update:
We just completed our second trek with Aiming Adventure, this time to Gokyo Ri. We were once again amazed at the quality of the service we received, even noticing some jealousy from other trekkers at the level of service we received. Machhire did an amazing job organizing everything and was as good a guide as we couldve hoped for. He made sure we were properly acclimatized and took care of everything we needed.

We will for sure use Aiming Adventure again next time we go to Nepal.

5-star

Bikal responded to my inquiries very patiently and thoroughly before booking. Then organized the tour well, so everything went according to the plan, including flights, guide, porters, accommodation. Had a FREE helicopter ride & that was amazing!. (thanks to Bikal again) :) Chiran, our guide was excellent in paying attention to every detail, and led the tour with great knowledge and professional support! “Thank you Bikal for making our trek the best, we will miss you and Nepal.” Cheers!

Gokyo Ri Trekking

April 2019

5-star

We have booked the Gokyo Lakes Trek with Aiming adventures.
This tour is simply amazing.

We have chosen Aiming Adventures (among many other agencies) because Bikal, the manager, was very open from the beginning. Instead of answering with standard emails, the answers to may mails have always been personal and addressing my specific questions. He was always available for questions via phone, whatsapp and email.

Bikal managed our Adventure perfectly. When the Kathamndu Airport closed down for domestic flights he was instantly able to organize a helicopter to fly to Lukla instead. This safed us a lot of time and probably frustration even before our trip.
When we came back to Kathmandu from our Trekking tour, even by the time the booked trip was over, he helped us in organizing hotel rooms, making our stay in Kathmandu as easy and comfortable as possible.

On the Trekking tour Roman was an amazing guide.
He was super friendly, knowledgable and always extreemely positive.
We are experienced Trekkers in the European Alps, but we were lacking the experience with the high altitude of the himalayas. Roman was filling exactly this gap and gave firm and precise recommendations, hints, suggestions and instructions on how to surwive up there. Even in critical situations he always knew what to do (and also what not to do).

He always immediately figured when one of us was not doing so well in a certain moment or day. Then he used his positive nature and his motivation skills.
This is quite helpful if you suddenly think that you can't go any further, just 100m below the peak of Gokyo Ri.

Roman seems to know almost everyone up there in the mountains and his huge network, built up over years was our advantage in many cases. This means we sometimes got a room closer to the toilets and myabe sometimes a cup of warm Tee extra.

We always felt super safe, very well taken care of and very happy dispite all physical strain.

Gokyo valley is one of the most exciting and beautiful valleys in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It encompasses Gokyo Lakes, Ngozumpa glacier, Gokyo Ri and other small Gokyo villages which seem exactly the heavenly places of the Earth. You are highly greeted with eye-popping views of snowcapped peaks in the Everest region in Gokyo valley. Among them, Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt Cho Oyu are the four major peaks which are 8000m above from the sea level.  Here, the Aiming Adventure Treks presents 15 Days Gokyo Valley trek itinerary which offers an opportunity for trekkers to experience Lukla, Phakding and Namche village, monasteries, Sagarmatha National park, floras and faunas on the way to reach Gokyo valley.

Furthermore, this place is both religiously and naturally rich and for Hindu and Buddhist devotees and trekkers. This place especially becomes sacred in the month of August when Hindu devotees visit this place on the occasion of Janai Purnima Festival. The beauty of this place has furthermore been added by the presence of Lord Vishnu and Shiva which are located at the western corner of the lake

The best suitable time to plan Gokyo Valley Trek is Spring (March-May) and Autumn (Sept- Nov).  However, we can schedule any time of the year based on your convenience. Unlike Everest Panorama Trek, Gokyo valley trek demands complete physical and mental soundness, strong determination and enthusiasm to complete your trek successfully.

Information about the Trip:

We acknowledge that you are joining us for the adventure trip in Himalayan region of Nepal, where weather conditions, health, and fitness of the member or unexpected natural disaster can compel us to change the itinerary and if so you have to understand it but we would try our best to keep the suggested itinerary as per the original schedule.

Your safety and satisfaction of the trip is our paramount concern while traveling with Aiming Adventure and we ensure you our best team, logistics, professional services to make sure that you would have an amazing trip of the lifetime with us. Also note that our trip leader deserved the final decision if the trip has to amend, change the route or cancel due to the extreme conditions for the safety precaution. However, he will try his best to ensure that the trip runs according to the stated plan but be prepared for flexibility if necessary.

Travel Insurance

Aiming Adventure suggests you get travel insurance that covers all the added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries or accidents (together with the air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and other treatment costs). Also, make sure that your insurance policy covers all the extra activities that you are planning to accomplish throughout your stay in Nepal. In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation cost. Most of the days while trekking in Nepal takes you above an altitude of 3000m, it is kindly requested to ensure that your insurance policy covers treks that go over 4000m. Buying insurance is highly recommended.

Health, experience, and fitness:

Trekking in Nepal is physically tougher in some of the regions. However, no previous trekking experienced is required but if you have, it is a great plus point. Trekking in Nepal is a non-technical walk. The highest height you would reach on your trip is 5,365m (Gokyo Ri) from sea level. The walk involves lots of ups and downhill takes you through local villages, farming lands, terraces, and riverside but as long as you have a strength of walking for 4 to 6 hours a day, you are qualified for the trek. However, you should be having moderate health and fitness. We strongly suggest travelers consult with your medical doctor before traveling and do the regular checkup of your health and report us while booking a trip with us.

A part of the health and fitness, the participant must be having a positive attitude and strong determination for the successful trip.

Altitude Information

AMS (acute mountain sickness) is a serious issue. It is the result of the failure of the body to adapt to high altitudes and can affect anyone, regardless of age or fitness. It usually occurs above 2,500m and the likelihood of being affected increases as you ascend. The way to reduce the effects of altitude is to ascend slowly, 300 meters per day above 3,000 meters until you have acclimatized. Poor acclimatization results in a headache, nausea, sleeplessness, difficulty breathing and swelling of fingers and glands. The only cure for AMS is to descend to a lower altitude and your guide’s decision on this matter is final.

Although our routes are carefully planned to allow for proper acclimatization you may feel some effects of altitude for the first few days or at higher altitudes. Breathlessness, lethargy and mild headaches are not uncommon and generally decrease as your body adjusts. Maintaining adequate fluid intake is essential. Please advise your guide if you feel more severe symptoms and do not medicate yourself without discussing it with them first.

Best Trekking Seasons:

We do have two best seasons to attempt this in Nepal. As this trip is a big trip for you, we always suggest you come at the right time of the year as far as possible.
Spring: - (March, April, May) - Best warmest time to trek. Rhododendron flowers in bloom- excellent trails and clear skies, best visibility. Good Temperature, warmest weather of the year.
Autumn: - (Mid-September, October, and November) - Excellent trails, clear blue skies, best visibility, neither too hot nor too cold time. This is another best time to trek.
Winter Months: - (December, January, and February) are also good, but it’s obviously colder than other times. You have to be prepared for this. It is up to you to plan this trek at this cold time or not.
Summer: - Monsoon, so rain and visibility can be a big issue (from Mid-June, July, and August). We do not suggest you this time for the trek.
