Great journey with Aiming Adventure to Everest Base Camp, Chola Pass and Gokyo Lake.

The support provided by our guide Karki Tej and his team helped my friends and I to realize our dream to complete the journey smoothly and safely!

The awesome leadership from Managing Director, Bikal Duwadi, ensure that we needs were met and changes to the itinerary quickly adapted.

Highly recommend to trek with Aiming Adventure for an unforgettable and fruitful trip!

Thank you very much once again!

Very cold weather with snow but warmed with the very friendly support of the Company's Guide, Tej Karki and 3 Porters for 5 of us trekkers. Views were amazing spectacular; we followed the itinerary daily. There was enough time for acclimatization and we completed EBC, Kalapathar, Chola Pass, Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri. The experience was priceless; wild and beautiful scenery everywhere. The Co, Guide and Porters were always around when we needed them.

Bikal and all his team were absolutely amazing, from the moment they welcome us at the airport (after 2 days of travel) we felt safe and surrounded by friends, we had the pleasure to have Chiran as our guide and let me tell you, if all the guides are as half good as him you will be in great hands, trekking to the base camp is the wildest thing I have ever done and was only possible because of the hard work, dedication and support I received from Chiran, Nepal has so much to offer but you DEFINITELY need help, a local expert to show you the best places, look no further, Buikal and his team are the best choice for your upcoming adventure!

5-star

Once again Aiming Adventure live up to what they do best . It was my second hike a year after with them….; the experience seems to be better and flawless. As usual Bikal made all necessary arrangements & logistics prior to arriving in Kathmandu which made the trek preparations very smooth and stay focus.
On the trail; there could not have been better companions than Roman & Santosh who both made this wonderful journey incredibly which left me a lot of deep memories. Roman & Santosh inspired confidence with great mountaineering professionalism .
Am looking forward for the next 3 Passes Trek in the future… with the «  dream team «  again.
Thank You all heartedly for this unique experience and God Bless You ????????????

We went to "Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lake and Cho-La pass" in October 2021 and the Aiming Adventure service was excellent.

The guide who accompanied us (Roman) spared no efforts in making our hike a success.

I highly recommend their service.

Congratulations to Bikal and the Aiming Adventure team!

We were a group of 3 person and did the Goyko-Lake trip via EBC. The tour was really good organized and the tour manager Bikal responded very quickly. The arrival and the hotel in Kathmandu were nice and with high tourist-standards. The trek was amazing and the duration of each day totally fine. The guide Roman and the two porters were courteous and tried the best to make this trek a wonderful vacation. Their english was sometimes a little bit hard to understand, but overall totally ok. Unfortunately one of our team members twisted the ankle on the 5 day of the trek and had to go back via helicopter. The organization of the helicopter and insurance via Bikal was super helpful and we were happy to have the support. Just two days later the second team member had to go back via helicopter too due to mountain sickness. And jet again, the support of Amining Adventure was great! The last person of the group continued the trek, but with changes in the trekking route. Due to this changes he wasn`t able to get a teahouse in Gorak Shep, which was a pity and resulted in a really long trekking day.
The only negative aspect of the trek were the teahouses. They were mainly ok, but you could recognize that the chosen teahouses weren't the best. We guess, that the guides chose these teahouses because of the other guides (to stay together).

Overall, I just can recommend Aiming Adventure - they are super helpful with every problem you may got and really try to make you feel comfortable!

Here’s my review about my trip (Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lakes) together with Aiming Adventure.
Quick info about me: I am 41 years old from Germany and travelled with Aiming Adventure from April 1st - 18th 2019. I am a neutral customer sharing his experience.

As My review will be very detailed (and not everyone is willing to read that much), here’s my short summary first:
Based on my personal experience, Aiming Adventure is the best provider of trekking- / hiking tours in the Himalayas. All the factors that are important for a trekking trip are met and / or exceeded by Aiming Adventure. There is nothing bad / negative I can say about Aiming Adventure.

And now - here’s my more detailed review (if you have any questions - or want more details - please let me know in the comments-section - I’m happy to help):
As this trip was my bucket list dream for more than 10 years, I did loads of research on travel agencies and providers, ending up chosing Aiming adventure. This was the best decision I could have ever made. Bikal and his team (our guide Manu and our porter Machhiri) fulfilled all of their promises and even exceeded my expectations. The entire trip felt like I was guided by world class professionals and - at the same time - it felt like being in the mountains with extremely caring family and friends.
Compared to other groups (clients and guides from other companies) I saw during the trip, my group from Aiming Adventure seemed like a family: Aiming Adventure is NEVER rushing their clients up the mountain (trust me, I saw and heard scary things from other companie’s guides). Instead, Aiming Adventure takes the acclimatization to high altitude extremely serious. This is cruicial for the safety and the success of untrained clients (like me). We saw many clients with alarming signs of high altitude sickness as they were „rushed up the mountain“ by their guides. This is extremely scary and almost criminal. We wittnessed „last-minute - evacuations“ of clients from other providers via horse and helicopter.
If you are reading this as you are still searching for the right provider for your trip: Yes, we check and calculate ahead „what is included“ in the packages of different providers (water, food, accomodation etc.) - but the most essential thing to be checked is the acclimatization to high altitude. If that is not provided, you are in an essential danger up there and you will most likely not be able to reach your goal.
I heard clients and guides from other companies fighting as the clients wanted their money back. They were frustrated as per their itinerary, it was purely impossible to make it up there safely in such a small amount of time. Trust me - being in our cozy homes, watching youtube videos and reading blogs about hiking in the Himalayas is one thing…experiencing the effect of thin air and the exhaustion just after making 2 or 3 steps is a completely different story. Do yourself a favor and pick a provider who calculates 2-3 extra days rather than a provider who rushes you up and down in a short period of time.
On a daily basis, our guide Manu gave us a detailed briefing about the next day, providing ALL the details about the hike, the altitude, the things we will see etc. Besides that he interviewed us every day about our physical and mental conditions in order to make sure that we will all reach our goal without any risks. He even made mandatory „water breaks“ reminding us to drink enough water (which is essential to minimize the risk of high altitude sickness).
Besides that - booking a trip with Aiming Adventure means that there are NO hidden costs (EVERYTHING was included in their price: water, food, accomodation, sleeping bags etc.) - on top of that, their trips are planned so that clients can adapt to the high altitude accordingly.

Throughout the daily hikes, our guide Manu and our porter Machhiri were extremely happy to chat with us and to answer all sorts of questions we had. Through that, we were able to learn a lot about the culture of Nepal and of course about the countless details about the Himalayas. This was - at least to me - priceless and unforgettable.
What the other group menbers and I felt all the time: The kindness from Aiming Adventure is coming from the heart and NOT from a business-driven eye on their bank account. Within our group, all clients agreed that booking our trip with Aiming Adventure was the best decision we could have ever taken.
What was important to me as well was the fact that the guide and the porter from Aiming Adventure are insured through the company (which is not common among providers). Remember: Your guide is your „life insurance“ up there and your porter is a „true miracle“ as he is carrying your entire luggage from tea house to tea house. On top of that (and that is just one of many „specials“ that are included in Aiming Adventure’s service), the porter prepares and serves a selection of fruits as a desert every day to strengthen their clients’ immune system.

Some other extremely impressive things from my own experience:
- The second I booked this trip, I received Bikal’s phone number and we were in contact via whatsapp all the time. One phone call to get to know each other ahead of time was made as well. It felt to me like „welcome to the family“

- From the moment I stepped out of the airport in Kathmandu to the moment when I flew back to Germany, I was guided by someone from Aiming Adventure. I NEVER EVER felt „lost“ or insecure.

- When we reached Namche Bazar, I got sick (must have eaten something bad…)
Immediately, Aiming Adventure made a fall-back plan for me to have an additional rest day at Namche Bazar to recover and to then follow with a separate guide at a later point of time. Our guide Manu and Aiming Adventure’s CEO Bikal were in contact multiple times a day so that they were able to remotely manage and organize things and „make the impossible possible“.

- Imagine - I was sick, laying in bed, woke up and had my guide sitting next to my bed with a bowl of rice and a cup of tea - caring for me in a way that my mother used to do it when I was little. This was really heart-warming and shows that for Aiming Adventure, it is the customer who counts. Thanks to the care and help, I was able to recover quick to join my group without any delay.

- We actually planned to cross Chola Pass from Gokyo to Everest Base Camp. Due to the weather, we were unable to cross Chola Pass so (everyone who is familiar with the map of the Himalayas knows) reaching Everest Base Camp is almost impossible within our travel dates. But then - within a couple of hours, Manu and Bikal arranged a new proposal and plan for us to still make it to Everest Base Camp. They re-booked our flights from Lukla (one day later), switched our bookings at tea houses, switched our Kathmandu City tour etc. So - at the end of the day, we still reached our goal thanks to Aiming Adventure.

All I can say is „thank you Aiming Adventure“ (Bikal, Manu and Machhiri)! You made me reach my goal and to fulfill my dream. On top of that, it was a true pleasure to meet you and to spend time with you,

All the best,
Tobi

Cannot say enough for how good this company his. Have previously been on a trek with Bikal as guide and his knowledge and experience are the best. This time as soon as we found out he had his own company we had no hesitation going to him. He accommodated everything we wanted for the trek and his communication from booking enquiry to arrival kept us fully informed. Our guide Suzan was fantastic. Knows track, route, accomodation places and the people so well that the whole track went off without a hitch.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend Bikal and his company for trekking in Nepal.
The best!

Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lake and Cho-La pass is the most amazing trekking package in Khumbu region offered by Aiming Adventure. If you crave for more of a chilling adventure and are up for the multitude of thrilling experience then this trek is the one for you. This trek offers you exploration around less trodden villages and landscapes that are usually quiet yet the views are soul soothing. As this trek takes you to the highest elevation of 5,360m at Gokyo Ri, 5,420m at Cho La Pass, 5,550m at Kala Patthar and 5,364m at Everest Base Camp (EBC), you are required to be in sound health but no any prior trekking experience is required.

Everest Base Camp is one of the most iconic tourist destinations in Nepal. In this EBC via Gokyo Lake and Cho-La Pass trek, we have added some extra magical element that takes you through off the beaten tracks all the way to the Everest Base Camp. Your heart will melt as you lay your eyes upon the astonishing beauty of the traditional villages and landscapes. The walk through quaint and relatively hidden glacial paths is worth the effort. Walking on icy and slippery trails can often time be difficult but once you look back at what you have achieved you will be grateful for the reward.

The surprise doesn’t end here. The million dollar view of the three picturesque Gokyo Lakes is the best part of this trek. Gokyo lakes comprise of six main lakes and are the world’s highest freshwater lakes. The placid blue lakes surrounded by impressive rock formations and mountains makes you feel that you have been transported to some heavenly place. The feeling can be mighty overwhelming. You will get to soak up and enjoy the picture-perfect views at a slow pace. The major destination of the trek: Everest Base Camp is the icing on the cake. The surrounding views observed from the base of gigantic Mount Everest that stands at the height of 8848m will give you a real picture of the blessing of Mother Nature. You cannot get more remote mountainous beauty than this and you cannot be more grateful than this.

October to December and March to May is the best time to visit Nepal and plan for this trekking. Walking through the villages of Namche, Phakding, Tengboche, Pangboche, Pheriche and other small settlements around Khumbu region offers an incredible view of the countryside. Warm greetings on the arrival gate in airport, city tour in world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley, Scenic flight Kathmandu- Lukla- Kathmandu, Visiting Tengboche Monastery, Reaching to the Base Camp and climbing up to Kalapatthar & Gokyo Ri, Crossing the Cho-La pass, delivering our services with warm hospitality are the major attractions of doing this trip with Aiming Adventure.

Aiming Adventure offers the perfect trip package including board meal while on the trekking, bed, and breakfast in Kathmandu with everyday departure and group discount facility. On this trip you will also get chances to enjoy the Mani Rimdu and Dumje festival if you happen to arrange for the trip around October and November. The pace of life here is much slower and everywhere you see you get that traditional yet appealing feeling. There are plenty of gompas, Chhortens, and monasteries all along the trail and it feels like they are there to welcome you. The EBC trek via Gokyo Lakes and Cho-La Pass offers plenty of treasures and yet there still are much more to experience.  If you are traveling for the short vacation, you can also go for the Everest Base Camp Trek or Trek to Everest Base Camp.

Travel Insurance

Aiming Adventure suggests you get travel insurance that covers all the added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries or accidents (together with the air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and other treatment costs). Also, make sure that your insurance policy covers all the extra activities that you are planning to accomplish throughout your stay in Nepal. In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation cost. Most of the days while trekking in Nepal takes you above an altitude of 3000m, it is kindly requested to ensure that your insurance policy covers treks that go over 4000m. Buying insurance is highly recommended.

Health, experience, and fitness:

Trekking in Nepal is physically tougher in some of the regions. However, no previous trekking experienced is required but if you have, it is a great plus point. Trekking in Nepal is a non-technical walk. The highest height you would reach on your trip is 5,550m (Kalapatthar) from sea level. The walk involves lots of ups and downhill takes you through local villages, farming lands, terraces, and riverside but as long as you have a strength of walking for 4 to 6 hours a day, you are qualified for the trek. However, you should be having moderate health and fitness. We strongly suggest travelers consult with your medical doctor before traveling and do the regular checkup of your health and report us while booking a trip with us.

A part of the health and fitness, the participant must be having a positive attitude and strong determination for the successful trip.

Altitude Information

AMS (acute mountain sickness) is a serious issue. It is the result of the failure of the body to adapt to high altitudes and can affect anyone, regardless of age or fitness. It usually occurs above 2,500m and the likelihood of being affected increases as you ascend. The way to reduce the effects of altitude is to ascend slowly, 300 meters per day above 3,000 meters until you have acclimatized. Poor acclimatization results in a headache, nausea, sleeplessness, difficulty breathing and swelling of fingers and glands. The only cure for AMS is to descend to a lower altitude and your guide’s decision on this matter is final.

Although our routes are carefully planned to allow for proper acclimatization you may feel some effects of altitude for the first few days or at higher altitudes. Breathlessness, lethargy and mild headaches are not uncommon and generally decrease as your body adjusts. Maintaining adequate fluid intake is essential. Please advise your guide if you feel more severe symptoms and do not medicate yourself without discussing it with them first.

So, overall, you have a different choice of food on the trek. You can pick up from the menu whatever you would like to have.

Best Trekking Seasons:

We do have two best seasons to attempt this in Nepal. As this trip is a big trip for you, we always suggest you come at the right time of the year as far as possible.
Spring: - (March, April, May) - Best warmest time to trek. Rhododendron flowers in bloom- excellent trails and clear skies, best visibility. Good Temperature, warmest weather of the year.
Autumn: - (Mid-September, October, and November) - Excellent trails, clear blue skies, best visibility, neither too hot nor too cold time. This is another best time to trek.
Winter Months: - (December, January, and February) are also good, but it’s obviously colder than other time. You have to be prepared for this. It is up to you to plan this trek at this cold time or not.
Summer: - Monsoon, so rain and visibility can be a big issue (from Mid-June, July, and August). We do not suggest you this time for the trek.
